Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is trying hard for the savour of Janet Ovalles, a 29-year-old of Dominican descent who is suffering from blood cancer and needs direct transplantation from a compatible donor to survive. "I am a young Hispanic woman, so is Janet. I could empathize with her situation so much," Jennifer Lopez said in an announcement released on Friday by DKMS. "These things just make you realize that we're all interconnected and depend on one another.”

Jennifer Lopez, who is of Puerto Rican descent, hopes her efforts will call attention to Ovalles’ bone marrow drives on Feb. 24-25. The Doctors believe that the only hope for Ovalles' recovery is transplanting bone marrow from compatible donors - the most suitable matches are from people of the same ethnic background. If Ovalles recovers Jennifer Lopez will be her guardian angel.
